    Like the series so far since it’s set here in our home state. I’m in Greensboro and would like to know if mile marker 291 really exists… and often wondered about the building of the parkway…

      Hi Charles, thanks for the kind words. All the miles are “marked,” although there may not be a spcific concrete marker there. Not sure about 291 specifically, I chose it because it is in between a couple of local landmarks. There is some info on the parkway here http://brpfoundation.org/content/blue-ridge-parkway-facts. Incidentally, the rumors of a secret military intsallation are real (well, the rumors exist, I don’t know if they’re true or not.)
